Helping the Communities Affected by the Maui Wildfires
We are deeply saddened by the catastrophic wildfires that destroyed the historic town of Lahaina in Maui, Hawaii, on August 8. The damage is heartbreaking as more than 100 people have lost their lives, 11,000 residents have been displaced, and countless homes and cultural centers have been destroyed.
To provide aid to the victims of this disaster, the Moody's Foundation is activating our crisis response strategy and donating $25,000 to the Hawaii Community Foundation for the Maui Strong Fund. The organization is collaborating with state and county leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community members to support the needs of residents who have been affected by this disaster, including shelter, food, financial assistance, and other services.
We know how much our employees care about showing their support for the people of Maui – so we are offering a double company match on personal donations made to eligible organizations supporting this cause through October 31, 2023.
By coming together, the private sector, community organizations, and individuals can make a meaningful difference for those impacted by this tragedy and other humanitarian and natural disasters. You can learn more about our recent crisis response campaigns here.
